CCDC offers a variety of grants in Clarke County. Below is a list of our 2010 available grants.
PILLARS GRANTS
The Clarke County Development Corporation, CCDC, is the sponsoring Iowa not-for-profit corporation, and holds the license for Terrible’s Lakeside Casino Resort at West Lake in Osceola. In accordance with its operating agreement with Terrible’s Lakeside Casino Resort, CCDC receives funding to allocate on a monthly basis to the CCDC Pillar grant award program. CCDC is proud to be a part of the South Central Iowa area and thanks all its many individual, governmental, business and industry partners for their continual support. Terrible’s Lakeside Casino Resort is a product of the hard work and faith of the citizens of Clarke County. Clarke County Development Corporation’s funding policy provides that: five percent of the funds available for distribution are placed in a reserve fund established by the CCDC; 25% is allocated to the operations of CCDC; the remaining balance of funds are dedicated to charitable giving and distributed to qualifying 501(c)(3) or tax-exempt equivalent organizations serving the needs of the people in the Clarke County; A WORD OF CAUTION! Funds available for the Pillars Granting Program vary each year. Applying for a grant does not guarantee the requested project or program will be funded. Please recognize that your request may be funded fully, partially, or not at all.

Community Action Fund (CAF) Grant
This grant is available through the Clarke County Development Corporation and Terrible’s Lakeside Casino and Resort. CAF Grants assist organizations located in ClarkeCounty which serve primarily youth, senior citizens and disadvantaged persons.There is no minimum grant amount. The maximum amount of this grant is $500 per project or individual. The grants are considered on a monthly basis and may be applied for by writing a letter of request to:

Include with your letter the number of persons benefited, your applicant match and costs identified (i.e.: estimate from contractor; vender order form, catalog page). We will let you know of the committee’s decision within a few days of our monthly Board Meeting, the second Wednesday of each month.
PAINT THE TOWN RED PROGRAMS:
FREE PAINT PROGRAM
Paint the Town Red is a collection of programs to enhance the image of our community. This program supports an environment where families enjoy living, working and playing. With this project, we hope to make a significant difference in the appearance of and pride in our county. We invite you to be a part of it. Paint the Town Red is offering 10 gallons of free paint to any home or business owner in Clarke county. Applications are now available for 2010.

PAINT THE TOWN RED DEMOLITION PROGRAM
Money has been made available to grant to owners of properties for the purpose of demolition. Residential, rental and commercial properties located in Clarke County are eligible. Governmental entities are not eligible. The application process is simple. Up to 50% of the cost of demolition, excluding landfill costs, will be reimbursed upon completion, up to $5000. Landfill costs for residential properties (including rentals) may be eligible for partial reimbursement under a separate program developed by the Clarke County Landfill Commission. Applications are now available for 2010.

NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is an intensive weekend expe rience that helps people through the generosity of local volunteers. Individual volunteers from local companies will spend one weekend per project in Clarke County performing hands-on home-repair projects for elderly, low-income, and disabled families. The work at each home will be done by volunteers. The materials will be supplied by the Clarke County Foundation free of charge through a generous grant from the Clarke County Development Corporation. Eligible repair projects may include:
- Porch repair/construction
- Landscaping
- Exterior painting
- Weatherization
- Wheelchair ramp repair/construction
